Effect of cholecystokinin-pancreozymin and secretin on the volume, composition, and enzymatic activity of hepatic bile in rabbits.

چکیده
In rabbits given cholecystokinin-pancreozymin intravenously a statistically significant increase in bile volume and alkaline phosphatase (AP) activity was observed. There was also an increase in the total amount of protein, cholesterol, bicarbonates Na, K, Ca, Mg, and the total activity of alkaline phosphatase and leucineaminopeptidase (LAP) secreted in bile within 90 minutes after pancreozymin injection. Pancreozymin had no effect on the concentration and output of taurocholates and the activity of gammaglutamyltranspeptidase (GGTP) and alanineaminotransferase (ALAT) in bile. Secretin neither changes the volume nor the concentration of any of the investigated components in rabbit bile.

Bile salt secretion in cirrhosis of the liver.
Secretion of bile salts into the duodenum was studied in eight normal subjects, in 10 patients with cirrhosis, and in two cholecystectomized subjects. Duodenal juice was aspirated continuously through a double-lumen tube during an unstimulated period, after an intravenous injection of pancreozymin/cholecystokinin, and during a continuous intravenous infusion of secretin given at a rate of 3 uni...
متن کاملEffect of secretin, pancreozymin OP-CCK, and glucagon on bile flow and bile lipid secretion in rats.
Rats equipped with biliary, duodenal, and vena cava cannulae and supplemented with Na taurocholate received 4 hour infusions of gastrointestinal hormones. Boots secretin increased bile flow by 63% and bile acid, cholesterol, and phospholipid output by 75, 96, and 73% respectively. This stimulatory effect on bile flow and bile acid secretion was observed also in the four hour postinfusion period...
متن کاملEffect of secretin and cholecystokinin-pancreozymin
The inhibition of gastric motility induced by placing fat in the duodenum was demonstrated to be humoral by Farrell and Ivy (1926). Subsequent studies on extracts of duodenal mucosa have failed to define the substance involved, although the concept that 'enterogastrone' is a duodenal hormone inhibiting both gastric motility and acid secretion is accepted (Grossman, 1950). In recent years, speci...
متن کاملSecretin and cholecystokinin-pancreozymin in combination in the inhibition of gastric acid secretion.
Both secretin, and the single substance which possesses both cholecystokinin and pancreozymin activity, have been shown to inhibit gastric acid secretory responses. Since potentiation may occur between pairs of stimulants of gastric secretion, the effects of combining secretin and cholecystokinin/pancreozymin have been studied in Heidenhain pouches stimulated by continuous intravenous pentagast...
متن کاملThe effects of glucagon, secretin, pancreozymin and pentagastrin on the hepatic arterial vascular bed of the dog.
1 The sympathetically-innervated arterial vascular bed of the dog's liver was perfused from a femoral artery. Arterial blood flow and perfusion pressure were monitored continuously and the hepatic arterial vascular resistance (HAVR) calculated from these measurements. 2 Commercial preparations of secretin, pancroezymin, glucagon and pentagastrin were administered by intra-arterial (i.a.) inject...
